Tea Towel Totes
I have previously posted about making bags here.
A while back I stumbled across a fun on line tutorial here which shows how to make a lightweight bag that is soft enough to fold up and have in your handbag or pocket for whenever you may need one. It is so easy that whenever I see a couple of pretty tea towels now I buy them so that I can convert them into a quick and useful gift. Here are some that I made earlier.
Two Good Films
Two (old) films that I have seen for the first time and really enjoyed are:
Me Without You
Breakfast on Pluto
Both are spirited, tinged with sadness but ever hopeful – a bit like me………..
Sew Hip
My rather squashed (thanks Mr Postman!) pre-ordered issue of this new magazine came today, it goes on general release in shops from the 31st October. It is full of fun and up to date ideas and patterns – definately worth a read. The website for more information and subscription details can be found here - happy sewing.
Leave of Abscence
It has been six months since my last post.
This time has been for me a painful existence, devoid of anything of merit to share with blogland and it’s visitors.
But, the wheel keeps on turning and time as they say is a great healer, so slowly and surely the disoriented spirit re-emerges, stares at the sky, registers the beauty of the world once again and pledges to seek out and record the whimsical and the pleasing to share with anyone who may be passing this way.
To quote Joseph Addison:
“Three grand essentials to happiness in this life are something to do, something to love, and something to hope for.”
Mahnahmanah!!
I have been inspired following a recent post by blutakgirl to share this You Tube clip with you.
The Muppets – Genius!
Jimmy’s Farm
Ben and I decided to mix a little business with pleasure on Saturday and took a stall down at Jimmy’s Farm
If you watched the TV programme, you’ll know all about the trials and tribulations of Jimmy and his aspiration to bring back the Essex Pig
We went to network with like minded people, sell some mulch, compost, soil improver, wormerys and other horticultural products in the Farmers Market. I did very little selling and a lot of looking at…..
Pigs (of course!)
Lambs
Trolls (I LOVE Trolls!)
Cats
Ducks
And this couple……………
Go Jimmy!
You are apples and I am tangerines……..
I love a romantic comedy and I absolutely LOVED this film Eagle Vs Shark. I watched it twice in 12 hours!
Intro to plot – Set in New Zealand, the heroine Lily is a shy, wistful girl, a songwriter when no one is listening, and an unpopular cashier at a fast food restaurant who has a crush from afar on Jarrod, a self-assured eccentric geek who works in a video game store. The soundtrack is wonderful too.
Here is the trailer, and by the way, I am so making those animal costumes for Ben and myself for the next fancy dress party we go to!
